Parents, if shop at Target stores or on-line at Target.com, please enroll for a REDcard and designate Walker Middle School to receive proceeds.  Our school can get donations and earn 1% of your purchases from Target.  This can be done by calling

EMERGENCY INFORMATION
Parents, please make sure you have current phone numbers available at school for your children. Send any changes  to Walker Office with the students first and last name, and any emergency contacts and numbers. You may also request a new emergency contact sheet at any time you need to make changes.
LOST & FOUND
We have accumulated items in our lost & found box which is located in the Walker Office. Please make sure your child has their name in jackets, lunch boxes, etc.

T-Shirt Sale

The FBLA Club is selling t-shirts to Long County High Alumni and Walker Middle School students.  You can make a purpose by filling out the T-Shirt order form and returning it to Walker Middle School, Mrs. Julia Smiley, Ms. Amanda Glisson, or a member of the WMS FBLA.  For any questions please e-mail Mrs. Smiley at jsmiley@long.k12.ga.us or Ms. Glisson at  Aglisson@long.k12.ga.us.

The 2009-2010 yearbook will go on sale starting January 2010.  Please make sure you order your copy as soon as possible as the number of books available will be limited.

For $25.00 you get a full-color yearbook with a hard cover.  Students may purchase a yearbook with their name printed on the cover for $28.95 (orders must be placed by January 31 to receive name on yearbook).

Books can be purchased in Room 721 (portables – Mrs. Pingrey).  Please complete the order form for each purchase your wish to make.
FBLA News
On Friday, March 5, 2010, the Walker Middle School FBLA traveled to Macon, Georgia for the State Leadership Conference. The club had 21 students attend and compete in various events with other schools from across the state. Walker Middle School came home with several awards. Overall, the club received 2nd place in the state for FBLA Activities, 6th place in the state for Community Service, and the GOLD Chapter Award.

We also had three students that received individual awards. Tayler Poole received 3rd place in the state for her Employability Skills presentation. Hannah Golden placed in both of her events. She received 4th place in the state for Creed Recital, and 10th place in the state for Employability Skills. Josiah Jeffers placed 9th in the state in Business Concepts.
The Walker Middle School FBLA will have an awards banquet on Thursday, May 13 at 5:30pm at the Rye Patch Clubhouse.
